Serve Nebraska has an exciting career opportunity to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA Program Officer. ServeNebraska is a growing and innovative agency that assists communities in Nebraska to create positive change through AmeriCorps/National Service. Dedicated staff work to deliver quality programing to sub awardees across Nebraska. The position will oversee recruitment of new programs and members and maintain positive relationships with current VISTA host sites. Successful candidates will have a strong focus on quality and compliance, while exhibiting a customer friendly approach. Positive interpersonal skills and demonstration of a high level of integrity and sense of urgency is necessary.

8 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday

Examples of Work

Job duties are inclusive of the following: This position will report to the Deputy Director and will manage the federal AmeriCorps VISTA grant, including adherence to all grant requirements as set forth by the Corporation for National & Community Service.

• Serve as primary contact to project funders and stakeholders, including the Corporation for National and Community Service's Regional Office.
• Oversee development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems, and best practices related to ServeNebraska's VISTA Intermediary Project.
• Lead training and orientation of VISTA site supervisors.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree, or equivalent coursework/training, in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, healthcare, human services or other program related field. Professional experience working in a human/social service or health care agency with responsibility for planning or evaluation services, programs or operational policies and practices may substitute in lieu of the educational requirement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate needs to be detail oriented, possess a level of understanding of performance measures, ability to understand grant budgets, ability to read and comprehend federal regulations and policies for monitoring purposes and provides guidance to sub-grantees. The candidate should be compliance and quality focused and be willing and eager to learn and implement best practices. The qualified candidate will possess strong communication skills and be customer friendly, professional, and serve as a role model demonstrating ethical conduct and respect for others.
