The Applications Analyst II provides design, development, testing, implementation and ongoing maintenance of new and existing software applications. This role provides training and support to end users.
The applications analyst II is a senior analyst at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) within the Mass General Brigham (MGB) Digital Department. This member will be part of the DFCI Satellite, Network and Pediatric Oncology Clinic IS Team supporting the Jimmy Fund Pediatric Oncology department at DFCI and Boston Children's Hospital (BCH). The role of the analyst is to support existing complex matrixed systems and linkages across the hospital partners (DFCI, MGB, BCH) in support of the clinic. They will work closely with the user community to provide operation system support of troubleshooting of issues across teams. They will additionally support workflow process with software design and implementation, participate and support new and existing interface(s) and manage small to medium projects or sub-projects. Pediatric Oncology integration includes patient and clinical data interfaces, as well as, firewall and functional and technical components of the integration. The Analyst will participate in design, development, testing, implementation and on-going maintenance of new and existing clinical information systems. The position will have a direct reporting relationship to DFCI Clinical Information Services and an indirect reporting relationship with the Boston Children's Hospital IT department. S/he must be able to create and maintain a healthy working relationship with the Jimmy Fund Clinic, Boston Children's, Satellite and Pediatric Oncology end users, leadership, and the community partners' IT departments.
The analyst position will be primarily responsible for the day to day coordination of assigned clinical information system tasks, functional support of data interfaces and integration points between DFCI and BCH. The analyst must develop an understanding of the Pediatric Clinics' operations and workflows and the uniqueness compared to the DFCI adult programs at the main campus and satellite locations.
This role requires exemplary analytical skills and strong written and verbal skills. Analyst must be flexible and enjoy working on varied projects across user groups and systems. The right candidate will be a strong team member and enjoy working with committees, but also manage oneself as an autonomous member of the DFCI Satellites & Pedi Clinic team. The ability to interact effectively with users at all levels; including Senior Management, Physicians and Nurses is a required skill. Analyst will work with hospital partners' IT departments to resolve application, hardware and integration issues.
This position will support the DFCI JFC Clinic users located at the DFCI main campus and as well as the BCH Pediatric Oncology Inpatient Provider workrooms.
