Jackson Hewitt is looking for a Manager of Financial, Planning and Analysis to join our team in New Jersey. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this is a high impact role that will be working with a portfolio of responsibilities that will be critical to the continued success of Jackson Hewitt.

This role will specifically focus on commercial planning and performance within the broader FP&A team. This manager role will help determine and drive how we allocate resources so as to maximize revenue and ultimately long-term value of Jackson Hewitt. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills to quickly assess performance drivers, strategic and critical thinking skills to identify areas of opportunity, and an ability to develop strong working relationships. This person will have sizable exposure to executive leadership across many lines of business.

What you'll do here:

  • Be a strategic partner to department leaders--working with them and their teams to understand operational and financial performance. Develop strategies to assist the commercial teams to meet short- and long-term objectives .

  • Understand and be able to explain the story within the data. Being able to go beyond the "what," but also understanding the "why" and "how"

  • Develop models to forecast revenue including for complex financial products

  • Managing departmental P&Ls, including planning, forecasting, and variance analysis during annual and monthly budgeting processes

  • Develop an expertise in the tax prep industry, understanding industry trends and performance relative to competitors

Skills you'll bring for success:

  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis

  • Must be a team player. Collaboration and ability to build consensus is critical to success in this role.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical ability as well as a data-driven approach for solving problems

  • Ability to think strategically and practical sense of how to cut to the core of an issue

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to communicate the results of analysis to leaders across the organization

  • Deep expertise in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with BI tools a plus
