This leadership position is for an Account Executive-Environmental Solutions in the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) consulting market. We provide support but expect you to develop and execute a plan for success based on existing knowledge of the Greater Tennessee market. Overnight travel will be common and required.

A DAY IN THE LIFE



The Account Executive- Environmental Solutions is responsible for leading all client development activities for Montrose Environmental Services (MES), with a concentration in the Greater Tennesee market. The role is primarily focused on sourcing and funneling new opportunities for the group along with accountability for setting revenue targets/goals and achieving desired metrics.


  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of MES client development and project origination.


  • Lead all new business efforts for the target market, develop strategies for engaging new or existing clients through direct dialogue, and participate in tradeshows and company-sponsored events, this is a forward-facing role that will interact with clients extensively.


  • Lead the development and management of new and existing clients.


  • Source new opportunities and projects and works closely with internal teams to prepare proposals and work scopes that meet requirements.


  • Originate, source, and win work and revenue from established and new Montrose clients.


  • Organize and write proposal documents for clients to describe proposed work scopes, estimated costs, and project timelines; work collaboratively with internal team members to pull together the necessary information.


  • Evaluate RFQ/RFP documents and the development of responses.


  • Maintain confidentiality at all times


  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs


  • Participate in the company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts


  • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops


  • Perform other duties as assigned



NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience as a business development and leadership-focused professional in environmental/sustainability consulting. Preference is given to candidates who have worked directly with oil & gas, manufacturing, and chemical sector clients.


  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.


  • Demonstrated ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management, both internally and externally.


  • Able to work effectively independently (i.e., self-starter, self-motivated), manage multiple responsibilities, and work with agility across those responsibilities.




  • Experience with Salesforce or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.


  • Advanced skill in computer-aided software (MS Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.).


  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


  • Perfected organizational skills and close attention to detail.


  • This position can be physically demanding and will require work in various working environments/conditions which requires that an individual be physically capable of canvassing large project areas by foot on various terrain and potentially in inclement weather.
