Finance Reporting Manager, PRS at Chubb

The PRS Finance Manager will assist the VP of Finance in directing and executing the financial planning activities of the PRS Division including budgeting, planning and analysis. You will be a critical member of the Finance Team, partnering with Sales, Product and Actuarial Teams to provide performance insights and analysis to the senior leadership team on a regular basis and driving the monthly / quarterly performance analysis.

 

Critical qualities to succeed include the ability to take ownership of deliverables and meet deadlines, manage projects, develop strong relationships with business partners, understand and analyze large datasets as well as the willingness/desire to continuously build and improve on insurance knowledge.

 

Forecasting and Planning


  • Partner with Sales Management, Actuarial and Corporate Finance Teams to drive key processes and deliverables for the Strategic and Annual Plan. Work closely with PRS field and regional teams to create production plans at a geography and line of business level.  Plans need to include detailed assumptions supporting new and renewal business including expected strategic initiatives that are in development or underway

  • Lead and manage planning and forecasting for the PRS Group by leveraging operational and financial metrics and partnering with Sales & Distribution, Product and Business Analytics teams

  • Develop two P&L forecasts per quarter projecting current and future quarter results based on market knowledge received from business leaders

Reporting and Analysis


  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of PRS Financials. Work with North America Finance and other functional teams if issues are discovered and make corrective journal entries as needed. Own the divisional financial results and develop detailed financial reviews of each P&L item.

  • Build and maintain financial models and analysis to provide financial and analytical insights into monthly and quarterly results as it relates to Plan, Forecast and Prior Year.

  • Create relevant dashboards, identify key business drivers and develop KPI’s for New Business and Retention by summarizing large data sets to measure financial and operational performance for both internal and external reporting for the PRS Division

  • Construct executive level presentations and present complex analytical findings in a clear, concise and decision-impacting manner

  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from various internal and external partners

Data / Systems


  • Become the subject matter expert on key finance processes and partner with Corporate Finance and IT teams to proactively identify opportunities for improvements and operational efficiency.

  • Get involved in system changes and enhancements to ensure that all financial and accounting needs are met

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:


  • 4-7 years of FP&A experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and excellent excel skills; exposure to other software products (i.e TM1, PeopleSoft, Cognos, Qlik or other BI tools)

  • Strong business and financial acumen (experience in a finance/accounting role within the insurance industry is a plus)

  • Proven track record of achieving results

  • Ability to work with large data sets and provide insightful information

  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated career orientation

  • Ability to work effectively with other disciplines and all levels of management/staff throughout the organization

  • Ability to problem solve, work autonomously, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related fields
