The job

In this role of product rules owner, you will create, shape, and own the digital vision and roadmap, prioritizing for agent and customer impact and business value to deliver Chubb’s product and coverage solutions digitally. Main responsibilities include driving rules strategy and framework while leading the product to success through representing the voice of the customer, defining, and prioritizing agile pod efforts; collaborating with pod members to develop, design, build and launch the product while also interfacing with other pod owners across different digital transformation domains to ensure overall alignment.

 

Responsibilities


  • With deep insurance experience especially in product rules, lead product rules strategy, framework and holistic solutions to overall success using input from the team, stakeholders, and customers

  • Own the holistic team performance to business objectives and outcomes to deliver Chubb’s underwriting craftsmanship and expertise digitally

  • Balance cross-functional inputs to set direction for journeys and own the solution strategy that is shaped through the domains and the business

  • Work with business intelligence and process engineering partners to track and measure processes, solution progress and outcomes, using well defined KPIs that tie back to OKRs

  • Define, refine, and prioritize user stories/epics daily including leading interactions with other units

  • Own pod vision and set priorities to deliver impact to the customer as quickly as possible

  • Observe, learn about, contact, and analyze end users of the solution, and clearly communicate the requirements to the team

  • Facilitate planning of Pod sprints to reaffirm priorities and agree on business requirements

  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the backlog using input from the team and stakeholders,

  • Specify acceptance criteria for each user story and write acceptance tests

  • Facilitate release planning with stakeholders and participate in sprint meetings

  • Build and maintain relationship with the stakeholders

  • Coach development and design teams with detailed guidance during solution development

  • Integrate usability studies and research into solution requirements to enhance user satisfaction

Functional and Technical Competencies


  • A minimum of Eight years of P&C insurance experience leading business or technical initiatives as a Project Manager / Product Owner delivering STP, infrastructure, or insurtech solutions

  • Experience and understanding of agile methodologies, best practices, values, principles, and practices; certified Scrum product owner is a plus

  • Able to combine both deep P&C business and product knowledge with technical know-how on digital and insurtech related solutions, processes, and partnerships

  • Deep understanding of insurance products with ability to provide recommendations for rules, rate, pricing and underwriting changes

  • Strong ability to identify, understand and communicate business needs and complex technical concepts in concise, and crisp manner to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, must be able to effectively communicate to key business and technology stakeholders at all levels

  • Strong self-motivator, with a contagious ability to spread energy to team

  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle related to the insurance tech industry

  • Experience with customer journeys and customer experience, with reference to insurance industry expectations for clients, business partners, and employees

  • Demonstrated ability to lead the management of multiple projects in a dynamic development environment

  • Ability to influence change and drive results; track record of high achievement in a team-based, results-oriented culture
