Summary: Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity within our Whitehouse Station office as a Principal- Industrial Hygiene & Safety and Client Account Lead. The Principal IH consultant will provide management and leadership to facilitate growth of our Industrial Hygiene Sciences team with the Northeast Region and EH&S subject matter expertise globally. This will include preparation and implementation of successful business development strategies for client accounts and the broader commercial market. The selected candidate will have direct responsibility for client accounts, business development efforts, and project management. As a Principal consultant, the position is responsible to develop and execute growth strategies with accountability for attaining key performance indicators.

Your Role:


  • Integrate yourself within Tetra Tech to leverage Tetra Tech's diverse service offerings, including participating in Tetra Tech's Key Account Management Program and industry initiatives.
  • Provide senior leadership support to the operations in the Northeast US with a focus on business development, project execution, and staff mentoring.
  • Prepare cost and technical proposals; oversee project managers to ensure the successful completion of projects; present technical materials; identify project within Tetra Tech; and maintaining good client communications.
  • Actively participate with project teams to pursue and capture new opportunities and focus on project execution. Other activities will include RFP management, contract negotiation, and project implementation.
  • Collaborate with Tetra Tech operational units worldwide and develop and implement growth strategies for a broad range of integrated services related to environmental, due diligence, EHS compliance, and industrial hygiene.
  • Develop and deliver on annual goals for key performance indicators.
  • Regularly bring forward ideas for pilots and initiatives.
  • Maintain and establish new relationships and ensure they are managed successfully.
  • Participate in Technical Safety, Industrial Hygiene Sciences, and EH&S Management Working Groups to ensure quality and innovative products are developed.

Qualifications:


  • Advanced degree in environmental health, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, health physics, safety engineering, human factors, or relevant discipline.
  • Membership of professional associations (AIHA, Product Stewardship, ASSP, etc.).
  • CIH, ROH, CRSP, CHP, PE or CSP.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Experience:

  • 20+years of experience with deep technical experience in the full scope Industrial Hygiene services and technical safety support (e.g. arc flash, dust hazard assessments, local exhaust ventilation, etc.).
  • Must have a solid understanding of the commercial environmental market sector including market potential, competition, clients, forecasting, and capture strategy.
  • Direct proven account growth/management experience on accounts greater than $250k.
  • Direct proven experience in cross selling services across accounts and diversifying the portfolio to drive profit potential and size of the accounts.
  • Direct proven account portfolio operational leadership supporting and mentoring account managers and teams in building relationships, account size and value of the account.
  • Senior level operating knowledge of market competitors that he can use to help us develop more competitive value propositions for accounts and key pursuits.
  • Dynamic, self-starter with successful experience with operational and program-level leadership, business development, and strategic planning focused on the commercial environmental market sector.
  • Proven technical expertise and a successful track record in the commercial environmental market with the ability to attract new business and grow key accounts.
  • Strong network of clients and long-standing, established relationships.
  • Strong track record in identifying market trends and opportunities to develop pursuit strategies for specific projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing project and group finances with strong profitability.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability developing and delivering effective presentations to customers and management.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical safety expectations and issues.
  • Familiarization with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Management System Standard (e.g.ISO-9001, 14001, 18001).
  • Development and delivery of adult learning systems and competency assurance.
  • Proficiency with applicable provincial EH&S laws, global standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Design and implementation of integrated safety management systems on multi-employer worksites.
