Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Aviation Project Manager with airport business development, design, and project management experience. You will work with Michael Baker's robust aviation practice on active projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in relevant civil engineering design and project management with a focus on general aviation (GA) and/or Part 139 airports and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funded airport development projects. If you are self-driven, thrive on uncovering and solving client needs, and bring strong technical expertise in FAA-funded aviation projects, we want to hear from you! This position is based in Columbia, South Carolina.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage multiple project teams on simple to complex projects in different stages of development
• Demonstrate organizational skills through delivery of profitable projects
• Business development including identifying, contacting, and acquiring engineering and environmental design projects; evaluating target clients and opportunities; and writing proposals
• Supervise engineers, CAD operators, technicians, and other staff
• Support senior management in developing and implementing long-range strategic and operational planning

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or appropriate discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina and have the ability to apply for reciprocity
• Experience and knowledge of FAA design standards and project development process
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience at GA and/or Part 139 Commercial Service Airports
• Excellent communicator, efficient decision maker, strategic leader
• Attention to detail, strong organization and technical writing skills, task master
• Ability to work independently or with a team

The salary range for this position is $89,000-$202,000. This will be dependent on the location, experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
