Account Manager (Rockies and North East) at Vallourec

Job Description:

Vallourec is looking for a local Account Manager in the Denver, Colorado area to support the Rockies & North East region. The Account Manager will promote, develop, sell, invoice and get payments of all Vallourec services in the assigned region, (VFS + Digital + Vallourec Smart) ensuring proper management of the assigned accounts. Targeting customer satisfaction by providing a high level of communication and support both internal and external, along with the proper execution of orders received by Vallourec. Smart in the USA.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following



  • Promote and sell all Vallourec services offered in the assigned region (Vallourec.smart &Vallourec Field Service)

  • Develop ownership of the accounts that are working in the region

  • Promote services with Vallourec and Non Vallourec customers

  • Maintain proper communication and generate relationship with assigned accounts in the region

  • Develop innovations and proof of concepts for new products and services

  • Achieve yearly sales targets

  • Define yearly and quarterly sales forecast

  • Monitor the proper payment and execution of all invoices made by the team

  • Coordination with VFS of proper execution of projects, invoicing, and internal payments

  • Support execution and order follow up of Smart run orders with the mills, proper coordination with VFS for prep offline and distribution for deliveries

  • Inventory control of all equipment owned by Vallourec (Printers, tags, readers)

  • Upload and monitor all work done for traceability as a software, upload files into the cloud to be able to secure proper operation.

  • Inventory control and follow up on all consumables (Tags, open end protectors)

  • Control and proper storage of all offers and cost tables.

  • Manage expectations and communication with distributors related to accounts assigned

  • Support management with continuous improvement actions (improvement of offers, invoicing process, new services etc… )

  • Support receivables department as required to ensure payment terms are adhered per contract

  • Maintains timely and accurate input of quote activity, sales bookings, and department records respectively

  • Report weekly activity in Corum

  • Represent team on various high-level projects or work groups

  • Assumes lead person role in department during temporary absences of direct supervisor

  • Perform job functions in accordance with Vallourec Standard Operating Procedures

  • Evaluate standard operating procedures systems for accuracy and suitability

  • Share “On Call” duties on a rotation basis, performing normal duties after-hours

  • Maintain required department documents such as specifications, prices, customer account list, and any other controlled documents issued on sales

  • Flexibility to travel to other locations to assist in workload or attend external training as required

  • Participate in Vallourec Employee training programs as required

  • Fully and actively participate in the corporate QHS&E policies to promote a safe work environment for all employees

Education/Experience:



  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the onshore oil Field with sales or business development roles is required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field is a plus


Preferred Skills and Knowledge:



  • Computer Skills: Preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • SAP knowledge

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to speak effectively before individuals, groups of customers, vendors, or employees of organization

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret bar graphs and/or customer related diagrams

  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form


Travel Requirements:



  • This role requires 50% domestic travel


 Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
