Responsible for performing set up, in-process, and final inspection on product and finished goods in assigned areas
Download and maintain Shipping, Knockdown and Field Service photos for all products
Audit processes for execution and completion to documented standards
Update and post Hospital metric
Document process improvements resulting from root cause analysis
Training mechanics on lessons learned and process improvements
Participate in continuous improvement activities and projects.
Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership.
Flex to other Departments to support Customer Needs as required.
Contribute to departmental safety improvements.
Daily review of Component and/or Unit Verification Records to prioritize next day activities
Facilitate and lead Weekly Warranty Review process partnering with line mechanics
Offer assistance with re-work as needed.
Continuously and proactively communicate with critical stakeholders (Team Leaders, Inspectors, Supply Chain) regarding findings from inspections, audits, and observations
Track Warranty Internal Actions in a spreadsheet including comments and action taken
Ensure Inspection Reports are accurate at all times. Collaborate with Engineering, Corp Manufacturing, and Operations regarding discrepancies
Ensure team and individual activities embrace sustainability, reduce the impact on the environment, minimize waste, maximize recycling, minimize energy and water usage.

NATURE & SCOPE
The position serves in a support role to Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering providing critical feedback and data. The Technician reports on a direct basis to the Quality Manager. He / she provides hands on instruction and mentoring to junior mechanics. As a senior mechanic, expertise may be requested to participate on local or regional project teams. Expectation is to operate as an influencer and technical / subject matter expert
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Effective written communication including documentation of processes, and the communication of those processes with fellow mechanics. Ability to communicate to supervisors and co-workers with written memos or emails that are professional, concise and clearly understood.
Demonstrated oral communication skills including the ability to communicate professionally with BAC customer and co-workers. The ability to share information verbally that is clearly understood and technically accurate.
Strong competency with Root Cause Analysis techniques such as 5Y and Fish Bone analysis
Competent in math including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractional computations, and fraction to decimal conversions.
A minimum of two years’ experience in BAC Assembly or Fabrication department is preferred
Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings for Assembly, Sheet Metal and Welding
Experience with continuous improvements.
Thorough knowledge of all hazards related to machine operation and related safety sensitive areas of the department and plant.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety standards.
High level of product knowledge of BAC’s numerous models and parts.
Computer competency with MS Excel including updating data and generating metrics in pre-formatted spreadsheets.
Demonstrated flexibility to work on multiple projects and adapt to change.
Ability to work on cross functional teams in support of plant objectives.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and train others employing principles of adult learning
Knowledge of Lean tools and techniques including facilitating Kaizen events
WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Standing is to be expected up to 80% of the time. Additional activities include: walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and sitting. Fine hand manipulation of controls is needed as well as hand eye coordination to perform changes. Working hours can include any of three shifts and generally are scheduled for forty hours a week. Some weekend overtime is to be expected. Working temperatures include both wide fluctuations within the plant as well as ambient outside temperatures.
