POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is directly responsible for developing new business relationships with corporate partners and providing leadership to enhance Be The Match Foundation fundraising goals. This position will help develop and carry a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects. Responsibilities include identification and cultivation of new partners, development of new business relationships and working in a relationship management system to facilitate and manage relationships. This position will work closely and collaboratively with BTM Foundation leadership, business partners and volunteer leaders. This position can be remote (US) or hybrid. #LI-Remote #LI-Hybrid

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Prospecting and Partnership Development:


  • Research prospective partners and develop/maintain an up-to-date pipeline of new partnership opportunities utilizing various project management tools (RE NXT, iWave, Asana, Accelerist)
  • Execute an outreach strategy based on research, cold calls, conference attendance and warm lead follow-up to identify and qualify potential new partners

Relationship Building:


  • Builds relationships with new corporate partners and grows partnerships to further the interests of both the partner and BTM.
  • Identifies and leads a portfolio of approximately 20 -30 national corporations. Documents all activity in CRM system.
  • Leads, and is responsible for 6-figure sized partnerships: including identification, cultivation, stewardship and fulfillment of opportunities with identified corporate partners and the corporate team.
  • Grow's partnerships across multiple engagement platforms to meet and exceed portfolio and Foundation fundraising goals.

Cross Functional Leadership:


  • Identifies, and develops new partnership opportunities in collaboration with BTM Foundation and BTM business partners.
  • Works with BTM Foundation corporate partnership operations to leads cross functional teams of staff and volunteers to identify, grow and fulfill engagement opportunities.
  • Actively participates as a member of the Foundation team to ensure the achievement of overall goals.
  • Communicates effectively with the BTM mission programs, accomplishments and goals to external audiences, in writing and orally.
  • Establish annual and long-term goals, objectives, and plans for the continued success and growth of business development efforts, including fundraising goals for the portfolio.
  • Partner with Major Gifts, Distinguished Events, and Foundation Business Partners staff to identify and grow potential partners.
  • Match current and prospective corporate partners with well-aligned programs and projects that fall within established priority areas.
  • Work effectively with Be The Match Foundation and NMDP staff, Board members and volunteers as needed to lead and support outreach and stewardship activities.
  • Strengthen relationships among Be The Match Foundation and NMDP staff in various departments to further integrate the Foundation with our parent organization and cultivate information exchange.
  • Ensures confidentiality of Foundation and BTM information.

Other Accountabilities:


  • Undertakes special projects as assigned.
  • Represents Be The Match Foundation and the NMDP with internal and external groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  • Proven ability to raise significant funds through consultative corporate partnerships. Demonstrated ability to draft successful partnership plans and to work independently, working knowledge of Raisers' Edge or comparable development software. Knowledge and familiarity with sales techniques.
  • Experience in building large scale mutually beneficial partnerships. Demonstrated success in cross functional team environment.

Ability to:


  • Excellent oral and written communication, and Microsoft office software application skills and CRM systems. Ability to interact with both external and internal constituents. Independent working skills.
  • Travel frequently (1-2-day trips, 1-2 times a month).
  • Ensures confidentiality of Foundation and NMDP information.

Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related field.
  • 5-6 years of development experience required. Two or more years of successful corporate partnership experience in a fundraising environment, working in a leadership position preferred.
  • Experience must include identifying, cultivating, and soliciting, corporate prospects.
  • Experience in team building and leadership.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
