Patient Scheduling Specialist - Bilingual - Family Medicine - 1102 S Park at University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Shifts scheduled Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Bilingual Patient Scheduling Specialist to:


  • Greet patients and work with them in person, on the phone, or through electronic correspondence to meet their needs regarding scheduling, updating patient information, checking patients in and out, and acting as a liaison in reporting any patient suggestions to management.

  • Coordinate physician schedules and reserve time on physician calendars.

  • Counsel patients on prior authorization, referral requirements, and insurance networks.

Education:

Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred – Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or other related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum – One (1) year of previous experience working in an office or customer service environment

Preferred – Previous experience working in healthcare. Previous experience scheduling patients. Previous experience coordinating multiple activities in an office setting

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay: This position is eligible for an additional $1.00 per hour bilingual differential.
