Job Summary
The Lead Quality Inspector inspects products manufactured or processed by the company to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that Quality Technicians are inspecting and measuring products at various stages of production process according to quality manual
Ensure that data is properly recorded and compiled to determine and maintain quality and reliability of processes and products through data analysis and trend analysis
Ensure measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and spectrometers are available for all associates, and in good condition
Ensure products are selected for inspections at specified stages in production process
Ensure that all required tests, such as color, dimensions, temperature, etc, are being performed
Immediately notify the supervisor/manager of inconclusive test results or continued defects
Schedule weekly work shift, rotating associates through the lines
Ensure that quality standards are available
Perform spot checks of paperwork, logs and databases to assure QA technician compliance
Keep manager informed of quality issues that may arise during the course of the shift
Leads up to 14 associates in the QA Department. Conducts training of new QA associates
Deliver testing samples to lab on a daily basis
Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
One year certificate from college or technical school; or atleast three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous quality and/or lab experience
Strong attention to details
Ability to read blueprints
Must be able to utilize measuring instruments such as caliper, tape measure, etc
Excellent math skills as well as written and verbal skills
Communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient computer skills
