Essential Job Functions • Work with maintenance and C.I. staff in troubleshooting equipment and process problems and identify opportunities for improvements. • Prepare project cost & justification. Manage schedule, track & report costs. • Develop bid package documents, review vendor quotes & propose most appropriate combination of equipment & resources. • Management of multiple capital projects within budgeted cost & time constraints using internal resources & outside contractors. • Develop operating procedures for new & existing equipment & processes. • Manage all phases of capital project - carry each project from initial scope definition, installation, commissioning startup & return to operation. • Prepare project documentation including preliminary drawings, as built drawings, operating instructions, maintenance requirements etc. • Participate & lead continuous improvement activities on production lines & in compounding area. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering • 3 to 5 years or more of electrical or mechanical project and contractor management experience in a manufacturing plant. • Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, MS Access, AutoCAD • High level of initiative, strong sense of urgency and strong organizational skills • Ability to work independently & take direction as needed • Management of multiple capital projects within budgeted costs & time constraints • Working knowledge of packaging & other automated equipment such as chemical feed systems, batching systems, Fillers, Cappers, Case Erectors, Case Packers etc. • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley instrumentation & PLC programming • Experienced in specifying, procuring, installing, commissioning & startup of automated equipment • Ability to effectively utilize internal & external resources • Strong communication & interpersonal skills • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities • Understanding of cGMP requirements.
