We are seeking a full-time Industrial Design Intern (Spring 2023) for our office in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the aesthetic and ergonomic development of projects while collaborating with internal teams to explore, innovate, and execute world-class designs under supervision.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Marketing, and Management teams to translate project goals into relevant solutions


• Explore a wide variety of compelling design options


• Communicate concepts and ideas through verbal, visual, and written means

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Completed coursework in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field


• Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)


• Demonstrates digital proficiency in the use of tools such as SolidWorks, Keyshot, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Sketchbook Pro


• Demonstrates interest in designing for one of Garmin’s core markets (Automotive (OEM or Consumer), Aviation, Marine, Outdoor/Fitness, or Exhibit/Retail/Environmental)

Desired Qualifications

• Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)


• Ability to provide a portfolio of school projects that demonstrates skills, experience and/or training in product design
