Responsible for providing financial expertise and guidance in all areas of financial management including developing strategic plans, the annual operating budget, on-going monthly financial forecasting and month-end close. The Finance Manager will manage monthly reporting, ad hoc analysis, financial planning and process improvement. This key individual must be self-sufficient in the ability to perform financial modeling and analysis, must be effective managing partnerships with key stakeholders, and must be able to effectively communicate and present to leadership. This position requires frequent interaction with all levels of the organization and high degree of business and financial acumen.
Responsibilities
Own the weekly and monthly forecast process
Serves as the trusted business partner to engage in key business conversations; address business issues in timely manner
Lead in their area of expertise special business initiatives or projects
Understand the key levers and drivers of the business to help influence business decisions
Perform a variety of advanced financial analyses to determine present and forecasted financial health.
Use financial modeling to simulate financial scenarios with limited guidance
Present potential scenarios and outcomes to management team at an executive level; develop recommendations that support improving business problems or situations
Manage the preparation and publication of financial documents in a timely and accurate fashion
Collaborate with cross functional partners on development and execution of monthly and annual business plans
Examine financial and legal documents to verify accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and acceptable financial principles
Operating and Strategic planning experience working with business leaders
Proficient in Lands’ End Financial and Operating Systems
Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently manage competing priorities
Strong communication and presentation skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related area (Accounting, Finance, Business, etc.); CPA or MBA preferred
7-10+ years related finance experience
Self-starter who demonstrates curiosity about the business and actively seeks opportunities for improvement
Strong understanding of key business metrics
Strong command of system, modeling, and reporting capabilities
Influence in key relationships; effective interacting across all levels of the organization
Flexibility/ability to learn and expand across multiple functional Finance teams
Anticipate and articulate the “so what” of business analysis (both visually and verbally)
Demonstrated leadership capabilities (direct or indirect)
Work independently with cross functional peers to drive outcomes
Operating and Strategic planning experience working with BU leaders
Proficient in Lands’ End Financial and Operating Systems
Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently manage competing priorities
Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting in their area of expertise
Deep understanding of key processes: own and run the process, identify improvement opportunities, and train/develop others
