As the Lead Systems Integrator you will be a technical leader for developing next generation Continuous Glucose Monitoring solutions for helping people living with diabetes. You will lead the effort to establish the architecture in the Systems Engineering Organization of Product Innovation, enabling future iteration and feature expansion with a focus on designing components for extensibility and reuse. You will accomplish this through working closely with technical teams to understand technology capabilities as they relate to meeting the goals of the business and working closely with cross functional partners on Core Teams to understand future technology/features needed by the market.

As a part of the Lead Systems Integrator job, you will represent the R&D function on cross functional core teams. You will establish the trade-off space for a product development program through building consensus amongst business and technical teams regarding scope and feature/performance prioritization. You will work with the technical functions to identify areas of technical risk and ensure that sufficient de-risking activities are on-going so that Core Team programs meet the intended scope and schedule.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Establishes the architecture for a technology group to allow for future iteration and feature expansion.

    • Works closely with technical functions to understand technology capabilities and how to integrate them into a product
    • Works closely with business partners to understand future technology/features needed by the market
  • Works with technical and cross functional core team stakeholders to establish the architecture for the commercial system customer experience of your product that is in development
  • Works with technical and cross functional core team stakeholders to establish the integration pipeline of key technologies including electromechanical devices, smartphone apps and cloud services into commercial systems.
  • Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies.
  • Works closely with the team of Lead System Integrators under the direction of a chief engineer to ensure effective system integration following a systems engineering approach.
  • Leads and works closely with the technical leads on R&D extended teams to lead the R&D functional topics across engineering disciplines.
  • Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will result in a solution that meets customer needs.
  • Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project's key stakeholders.

    • Providing work direction to project analysts, reviews status of projects; manages schedules and prepares status reports using PowerBI dashboards.
    • Represents the Product Development function on cross functional core teams
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in developing electro-mechanical devices including how to integrate the various subsystems into one product
  • Experience in developing launching app-cloud systems
  • Experience developing medical device products using design controls through the product development process
  • BS degree in engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of experience
  • Experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS/DRM)
  • Experience in medical device product development
  • Experience in implementing products that have to integrate into multiple platforms
  • Experience in leading development of distributed systems
  • Experience in developing physiologic sensors
