The Team and Leader Statement The Global Product Management team is redefining the delivery of research products for executives around the world, built from a foundation of customer & market research. We are looking for a Senior Manager of Market Research, reporting into MVP of Market Insights, who will help support primary research conducted across methodologies in support of product development and optimization.

Job description

The Sr Manager of Market Research will work closely with their research peers and product leaders to explore audience needs; evaluate product concepts, attributes and positioning; as well as assess ways to optimize current product offerings. This position will help ensure research is embedded throughout the product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate loves conducting research and sharing customer insights that informs teams of product opportunities and improvements.

The Sr Manager of Market Research will employ a variety of research methods to assess Gartner's customer and product needs and experiences.


  • Support quantitative research projects, including (scope development, vendor selection, survey development, sampling considerations, fielding and data QC, reporting, and presentations).
  • Support qualitative research projects, including (scoping, guide development, scheduling, interviewing, reporting and presentations).
  • Help manage research programs across priority B2B roles and platforms.
  • Have some experience conducting research among technology audiences (ITDMs, Data and Analytics, Software Engineers, Security, etc.)
  • Have some experience working with product concepts at various phases of development, including UX research
  • Have some experience conducting research about new and emerging technologies (AI, Robotics, Blockchain, Big Data, Cloud, 5G, Martech, etc.)
  • Deliver compelling research findings to stakeholders.
Essential must-have skills

  • 7+ years of experience in market research, across qualitative and quantitative methods. Experience in product research a plus.
  • Use of various research tools (SPSS, Wincross, Stata, PowerBI, Tableau, Confirmit, Decipher, Usertesting, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate with internal clients to support their research goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage research projects from scoping to final analysis.
  • Experience managing or training others a plus.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, as well as re-prioritize based on business needs.
