The Assistant Director of PROS helps to oversee mental health and mental performances services that are delivered by PROS’ staff. The Assistant Director also collaborates with other departmental staff (e.g., athletic training, academics, athletic directors, etc.) for continuity of care. The Assistant Director is also charged with developing mental health programming, outreach, and strategies to improve the field of sport psychology.
Essential Functions: The Assistant Director’s time will be divided among the following activities in the approximate/average increments of time – hours per week – indicated in parenthesis:
•Counseling (8-14)
•Admin time (4-15)
•Administrative programing and research (1-4)
•aAssessment and report writing (2-6)
•Mental performance enhancement (4-10)
•Athletic Student Life projects (1-3)
•Supervision (1-3)
•Outreach (2-6)
•Additional duties may include supervision of other trainees, coordinating PROS outreach efforts; providing crisis counseling and management; assisting the coordination of new student-athlete orientation programs; and collaborating with campus groups to develop programming opportunities around specific topics (e.g., National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Sexual Assault Awareness Week). Specific responsibilities will be based on availability and staff training needs.
