We are seeking a full-time Java Software Engineer for our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will join our HRIS / Payroll team and rill be responsible for designing and developing complex multi-system applications and drives collaboration with others to ensure effective project completion.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Developing scalable, supportable, and reliable REST APIs that service the entire Garmin ecosystem.
Participating in the full lifecycle of development, including conception, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Working with developers across the globe on cutting-edge technologies, including microservices and containers.
Working in an Agile environment delivering code frequently to production.
Working on our HRIS / Payroll platforms that services many of needs of internal customers and employees.
Delivering innovative and modern features.
Partnering with architects to design resilient applications.
Utilizing Garmin and Third-Party Developer APIs including Cloud integrations
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Demonstrated strength with Java, Spring and REST
Proficient in server design and debugging experiencePossess the ability to turn feature requests into technical designs
Willingness to take initiative and work independently while also collaborating in a team environment
Demonstrated experience with test tools like JUnit, JMeter, etc.
Experience with continuous development patterns
Experience with some of the following tools/frameworks is a plus: GIT, JIRA, Jenkins, RabbitMQ, Bitbucket, Splunk, Kibana, HAProxy, OAuth
Desired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
Basic understanding of Oracle e-business suite is also a plus
