Vocational Coordinator at University of Oklahoma

Job Description:

This position will work with the Zarrow Institute on Transition & Self-Determination and Sooner Works staff in supporting students in the Sooner Works program in obtaining the skills needed for competitive inclusive employment.


  • Oversee/evaluate Sooner Works career development

  • Trains and organizes support for job coaching

  • Provides job coaching

  • Recruits internship sites

  • Oversees students; progress in internships, internship site main point of contact

  • Provides one-on-one support on students' job-related skills and preparation, including person centered planning (resume building, interviewing skills, soft skills, etc.

  • Teach Sooner Works courses per semester

  • Helps senior students with job placement prior to program completion

  • Helps with academic tutoring

 

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business, Healthcare, Public Health, or related field, AND: 


  • 48 months of project management experience


Skills:



  • Knowledge of career development



  • Ability to interact with a variety of people including individuals with disabilities 



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook



  • Basic data analysis and general understanding of database concepts


Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to maneuver around campus

  • Sit for prolonged periods

  • Ability to supervise off-campus internships

Department Preferences


  • Master's Degree in Related Field (Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Career Counseling, etc.)

  • Direct experience working with adolescent young adults with disabilities

Supervision: will supervise Sooner Works students and their progress in internships, job placement, etc.
