Our avionics systems are taking off, so we’re looking to board a motivated professional responsible for assisting the department VP, directors and managers with compiling and reviewing the data regarding their manufacture and sale. The aviation business analyst will also manage monthly, quarterly and yearly product forecasts and competitive product and program analysis and assist with strategic business reviews. Must be able to travel to tradeshows and regional events, as well as support on-site meetings with customers and industry partners. We are seeking a full-time Aviation Business Analyst 2 located in our Olathe, KS office. In this role you will be responsible for preparing various scenarios to understand non-reoccurring and internal costs, programmatic needs, deferred revenues or other analysis to be used in customer discussions. 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 


  • Provides, maintains, and clearly explains accurate internal product cost structure to support margin and program analysis with minimal oversight and guidance

  • Manages the entire Aviation Business Segment’s product pricing process, including FRM112s, Pricing Booklets, and year-end reviews, with minimal oversight and guidance

  • Proactively drive the development, implementation and management of new sales tracking and reporting tools to help communicate sales and order status to the Aviation sales team

  • Prepares and presents competitive product comparisons including pricing, feature and market analysis with minimal oversight and guidance

  • Accurately prepares various scenarios to understand non-recurring and/or internal costs, programmatic needs, deferred revenues or other analysis to be used in customer discussions with minimal oversight and guidance


  • Support various stakeholders in the preparation and alignment of internal forecasts, estimates and strategic initiatives




  • Manage monthly, quarterly, yearly and long-term planning tools to facilitate management review and direction




  • Analyze market trends, including relevant product and performance metrics or third-party market insight, to assemble industry overview for internal stakeholders




  • Cultivate successful internal and external customer relationships that focus on mutual benefit, maximizing partnership/content potential, and driving to consistently exceed customer expectations




  • Act as a voice of Garmin Aviation and provide input to other internal departments to promote advocacy of the Aviation segment’s continued success




  • Support Sales Managers, Managers, Directors and Vice President with development of internal commercial analysis, comparison tools, ongoing cost analysis and provide input toward proposed recommendations by the sales teams




  • Support increasing sales by attending industry events and be capable of articulating competitive benefits of Garmin products and systems



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


  • Master's degree plus 4 years relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years relevant experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this role

  • Must possess experience working in the aviation marketplace

  • Must demonstrate a proven track record in meeting and achieving goals

  • Must be team and detail oriented, possess a positive attitude, and a strong passion and enthusiasm for customer satisfaction

  • Ability to present to large groups 

  • Must have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay organized in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must possess demonstrated analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered

  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality – must take great pride in the work you produce

  • Particular emphasis and expertise using Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

  • Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (30% of time or greater)

Desired Qualifications:


  • A Private Pilot’s license, general understanding of the avionics competitive landscape, products, and systems as well as a demonstrated operational knowledge of Garmin products in highly preferred!
