Job Description:

Arconic is currently in search of Maintenance Reliability Supervisor to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit in Davenport, IA.

The Maintenance Reliability Supervisor is accountable for providing leadership and direction to assigned members of the crew to meet business requirements, for the efficient production of metal in a lean manufacturing environment. Under the direction of the Department Lead or the Central Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Reliability Supervisor is responsible to ensure productivity, safety, quality, improved recovery, reliable and consistent delivery performance and rapid problem solving in planned and unplanned cost-effective, customer-centric environment.

The Maintenance Reliability Supervisor is responsible for adhering to all applicable federal laws and Arconic policies including but not limited to: Equal Employment Opportunity laws and Arconic policy with regard to race, gender, religion, national origin, age, or physical ability.

Additional responsibilities of the Maintenance Reliability Supervisor are the following:


  • Ensuring long-term viability of existing equipment; asset management in a cost-effective manner including proper equipment operations and world-class equipment availability
  • Ensuring there is a technically capable maintenance workforce that values diversity and is customer oriented, responsive, and flexible; distribute workforce as needed; recognize and coach team as necessary
  • Ensure ABS concepts and critical maintenance functions are integrated into the day-to-day operations of the department
  • Recognize that accident and injury prevention are equal in importance to production, quality, delivery, recovery and cost control; accept the responsibility to work safely and promote safety consciousness among other employees
  • Take a leadership role in promoting and practicing Arconic Business System concepts and philosophies within span of control and responsibility
  • Coach the fundamentals of Reliability Excellence
  • Follows leader standard work methodology
  • Provide support and direction for team conflict resolution activities
  • Develop and continuously improve cross shift communications
  • Promote awareness and ownership of maintenance improvements, objectives and goals
  • Review departmental metrics to ensure team is meeting objectives
  • Demonstrate knowledge of maintenance business systems (i.e. shop floor, Oracle, I-Procurement, change reviews, etc.);
  • Identify opportunities for problem-solving teams targeting waste elimination
  • Working with craftspeople to apply root cause analysis and rapid problem-solving techniques to minor exceptions to find and eliminate the fundamental problems

.Basic Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Working knowledge of principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with lubrication programs and processes
  • Working knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance tools
