We are currently searching for a Category Manager to help lead our team of buyers and merchandisers by developing the overall strategy for product categories while being responsible for the product assortment, pricing, and promotion. This role is also a leader in solving problems and managing through change and ambiguity. Responsibilities:
Negotiates supplier programs to improve and exceed the funding budget
Review, analyze and implement supply chain efficiencies, including cost of goods improvement, logistics improvement, days on hand and terms
Establishes annual category objectives and plans and communicates appropriately
Works with cross-functional teams to achieve target profit margins across all categories
Understands & studies industry trends, emerging concepts and market segments
Works closely with the sales team to determine optimal pricing and assortment through analysis of sales trends, competitors, and market indicators
Works closely with Marketing to develop Merchandising and promotional activities
Communicates strategies and initiatives with senior leadership
Responsible for regular review of vendor contracts
Prepares and analyzes applicable reports and summaries
Has bias for action and is self-motivated to exceed goals and objectives
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
Three years of experience in Category or Product Management, Buying, Purchasing, or in a high-level Analyst role required
Food industry experience in purchasing, sales or food facility management strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to earn trust and develop strong vendor and customer relationships
Highly proficient in Excel and analyzing data
