The Financial Reporting – Fair Value team within Asset Liability Management (ALM) Finance is seeking a results oriented and highly dependable Associate Manager (10P) candidate with strong organizational and partnering skills.

Asset & Liability Management (ALM) Finance is part of the Corporate Controllers organization and broadly has responsibility for financial reporting of the General Account’s invested assets.  The Fair Value Reporting and Analysis team within ALM Finance is responsible for preparing and analyzing all aspects of the fair value disclosures for PFI and a substantive review of PFI’s  subsidiary fair value disclosures. Among its many responsibilities, the team completes the quarterly/ annual GAAP fair value disclosures in external filings, management reporting and are viewed as the subject matter experts of the accounting policy for ASC 820 Topic – Fair Value Measurement. To meet its objectives, the team interacts and collaborates with various stakeholders across the organization (e.g. EXL Services (EXL), the Enterprise Valuation Group, Investment Operations, Asset Managers, SEC reporting team, BU controllership teams, and BU Actuarial teams).

The Associate Manager will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end fair value footnote reporting process for PFI as well as various management reporting presentations. Specific responsibilities include:


  • Oversight of the preparation of the consolidated fair value footnote for inclusion in Forms 10-Q and 10-K filings


  • Supervise EXL associates on completion of fair value reporting deliverables


  • Support maintenance of quarterly fair value reporting systems/tools- updating templates, providing management guidelines


  • Prepare related analysis/ commentary for 10Q/10K reporting purposes


  • Review and analyze supporting schedules and period over period variances


  • Review the production of quarterly valuation attribution, sensitivity reports and other reports for senior management


  • Oversight of the fair value leveling checklists completed by business partners


  • Maintain a control focused environment including overseeing the SOX and MAR programs and serve as finance liaison for control issues and audit inquiries.


  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors on quarterly and annual procedures


  • Other ad-hoc and special projects


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred,


  • 3+ years of work experience in financial analysis or reporting with investments experience


  • U.S. GAAP and fair value reporting knowledge a plus


  • Strong communication and partnering skills


  • Ability to collaborate across the Finance teams and foster relationships across multiple business partners including Investment Operations, SEC Reporting, BU controllership teams, actuarial, etc.


  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; careful attention to detail


  • High accountability, results driven


  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities under tight timeframes


  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (primarily Excel and Word)


  • Knowledge of financial reporting application such as Oracle, EFDW, Essbase and Workiva


  • Flexibility to work overtime as required during peak reporting periods


  • Remote work arrangement available

The salary range for this role is from $83,300.00 to $124,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
