About the Opportunity:

The Director of Cruise Revenue will lead the revenue management and yield/inventory function of American

Queen Voyages to best maximize revenue yield achieved in the marketplace. In addition, this role will drive

insight-based decision making across the business through the use of analytics and data analysis in order to

accelerate revenue growth and increase profitability.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody American Queen Voyages’ RESPECT Service System.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Optimize forecasting models and establish effective channel mix strategies for Groups and

FIT based on seasonal and geographical variances using revenue management tools.

• Develop strategic plans to maximize revenues and utilization of inventory across fleet, as

well as tactical planning and decision making in reaction to changing market conditions.

• Lead the implementation of strategic and tactical plans.

• Provide weekly and monthly inventory analysis of Groups and FIT channel mix.

• Collaborate with sales and marketing to meet or exceed budgeted revenue and yield

targets.

• Demonstrate skilled understanding of variable pricing strategies and report on same.

• Lead Revenue Management team on pricing decisions for Groups and FIT segments.

• Work with the Sales leadership to determine pricing strategies for Charter and Incentive

travel groups.

• Implement Groups incentives and allotment strategies for seasonal adjustments.

• Establish and maintain minimum standards for Yield Management and Inventory to include:

weekly Yield/Inventory Meetings, call conversion goals, and standardized reporting.

• Maximize departmental contact with all clients to ensure optimal conversion rates and

bookings.

• Drive continuous improvement of policies and processes impacting pricing.

• Provide weekly & monthly predictive revenue and yield analysis.

• Manage Group strategies and policy information provided across all available distribution

channels.

• Drive innovation and implementation of Revenue Management programs and new

initiatives.

• Work with senior leadership to establish strategies to increase revenue streams from both

Groups and FIT business.

• Generate and distribute daily, weekly and monthly yield and inventory management

reports.

• Maintain accurate and detailed historical data for all market segments.

• Compile data, analyze trends, and develop accurate weekly and monthly forecasts.

• Critically analyze impact of revenue management strategies implemented by the company

• Ensure all allotment plans are built in accordance with established guidelines.

• Implement and oversee enhancement, creation, and maintenance of all revenue

management tools.

• Ensure group inventory and cut-off dates are managed according to conversion.

• Other duties as directed.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or related required

• MBA or Master's Degree in related field desirable

Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills via email, phone, in-person

• Excellent communication skills

• Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management

• Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures

• Knowledge of public relations principles, practices and techniques

• Ability to develop and deliver presentations based on data; with skills to align a team together

on decision making

• Understanding of revenue management techniques and strategies

• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels and to work effectively with a wide

range of constituencies in a diverse community

• Work requires willingness to travel and to work a flexible schedule

• Ability to identify and secure revenue sources

• Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects

• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

• Outgoing and self-motivated individual

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in similar role

• Previous experience in Travel and Hospitality industry a plus

• Proven work-related Analytical Experience

• Current experience in a reservations or revenue position

• Experience with SEAWARE a plus

• Experience in strategic planning and execution

• Comprehensive knowledge of excel; SQL experience preferred

Other:

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment,

reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing
