Small Business Product Manager – BOP/Umbrella

Reporting to the Senior Vice President BOP and Umbrella, the Small Business Product Manager will be responsible for product maintenance, product development, and product management efforts to drive top and bottom-line goals for the Small Business Umbrella and BOP Lines.  This position will take the lead on driving assigned product line initiatives across multiple departments including: Underwriting, Regulatory, Marketing, Claims, Actuarial, IT, Government Affairs, and Legal.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Ongoing product management for the as assigned that includes performing deep dive analyses to formulate data driven business recommendations for product, rule, rate, or underwriting changes

  • Collaborate with underwriting to portfolio manage assigned product lines

  • Responsible for regular product maintenance including updates to system supported regulatory rules, enhancements to underwriting rules, loss cost updates, and ISO circular updates

  • Drive product development efforts including coverage enhancements, segment expansions, and improvements to Chubb’s online strategic quoting platform for Small Business Umbrella       

  • Act as Home Office underwriting expert; help establish Small Business Umbrella underwriting strategies

  • Coordinate with Regulatory to monitor state legislative changes and ensures product, rules, forms, underwriting, and business practices are compliant with state laws

  • Closely work with Underwriting and Actuary to provide input on state rate selections based on rate indications and product performance

  • Assist with the development of marketing and training material for the Small Business BOP/Umbrella products

  • Collaborate with Claims to understand large loss trends, taking appropriate product/underwriting actions when necessary

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 4+ years’ Product Management experience in Commercial Lines

  • Previous experience working with IT development for product changes; this includes development of business specifications and helping prioritize product release items

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, maintains thorough attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of Commercial BOP and Umbrella Products are a plus

In Colorado the pay range for the role is $84,000 to $143,500. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
