Summary of Duties:
The Fiscal Analyst position provides fiscal support for the Office of Research and service center. Fiscal duties include but are not limited to: monitoring budgets for operations including grants, state funds, and/or program funds; establishing and maintaining comprehensive fiscal record keeping systems; monitoring and maintaining cost center and/or self-sustaining accounts; maintaining service center invoicing records; and coordinating diverse unit-wide fiscal support functions such as payroll, travel reimbursement, purchasing and fiscal planning. Support department and service center with diverse activities such as ensure unit compliance with departmental, institutional, state, and/or sponsoring agency policies, rules and regulations, as well as monitoring personnel processing and how they affect permanent and temporary funds. Responsible for advising faculty, staff and administrator regarding applicable service center policies and procedures and select/recommend alternative courses of action departmental operations.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint to create spreadsheets, graphs, charts and reports, prepare presentations, conduct data analysis and manage information efficiently.
Experience working efficiently and accurately with numbers.
Demonstrated organization skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Customer service experience in an office setting.
QuickBooks Pro Experience or QuickBooks (QBO).
Knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures Manuel
Experience in higher education, local or state agency, or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Workday (WSU's financial data management system).

Monthly Salary: Range 44, $3,558 - $4,656 (Step A through L). Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
