Operations Specialist at First Federal Savings Bank

Job Description:

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Maintains expert knowledge of and is responsible for the Bank Controls related to the Deposits, Deposit Origination, Teller, and Relationship applications in the bank’s Horizon core system, as well as other deposit systems and:

    • Updates, tests, troubleshoots, and provides user administration for those systems

    • Submits and monitors support tickets with FIS and other vendors

    • Works closely with business units to provide subject matter expertise

    • Understands and communicates system changes and upgrades to management and affected departments and the impact these will have on the bank

    • Assists with implementing new products

    • Serves as strategic adviser for the direction of the systems.



  • Maintains knowledge of H360.

  • Supports the Branch Operations and Deposit Operations Departments by:

    • Providing subject matter expertise

    • Writing H360 reports

    • Assisting with developing and writing procedures as needed



  • Leads or supports special projects as assigned.

  • Stays abreast of legislation, regulations, and compliance issues and assists Chief Operating Officer and Deposit Operations Manager to ensure systems are compliant.

  • Performs all job duties to ensure compliance with all applicable acts, laws, and regulations applicable to the job.

Qualifications Required

(Required education may be satisfied by experience and/or working knowledge)

High School diploma and at least two years banking experience with strong knowledge of retail banking policies, procedures, and Federal and state regulatory requirements. Experience with the Horizon core banking system. An intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Sitting for extended periods of time; requires close visual acuity and the ability to work and operate computer applications and equipment including copy machine, telephone, scanner, or other basic business equipment. The job is within the normal office environment range.

Qualifications Preferred

An Associate’s degree. Five years banking experience, preferably in Retail/Deposit Operations.

Knowledge


  • Knowledge of state and Federal banking regulations, operations, processes, and documentation pertaining to deposit and retail operations

  • Knowledge of the FIS Horizon core banking system.

  • 2 year(s): Banking experience with a strong knowledge of retail banking policies, procedures, and federal and state regulatory requirements.
