About The Role
As an HR Business Partner, you will serve as the primary HR Partner to the Directors and their teams. You will be responsible for executing action items that support key projects and initiatives within the Information Technology Department. Through collaborative, trusting partnerships, you will coach and advise your business partners on HR initiatives and will promote a people-centric, high-impact organization. You will leverage an understanding of business needs by building effective relationships with your business leaders. The HR Business Partner works closely with HR Talent Partners to implement strategic plans.
How You Will Make an Impact
Primary HR point of contact for Directors and Managers within IT. Partner with HR COEs to deliver direct HR support.
Support the talent strategy and key talent processes (I.e., talent review, annual performance management and merit cycle, etc.)
Provide counsel and consulting services to internal partners, both people managers and individual contributors.
Responsible for implementing the workforce and talent agenda that attracts the right people in a competitive market, partnering with Talent Acquisition.
Drive employee engagement efforts through execution of action plans from employee feedback survey results.
Champion of the UNFI culture, DEI initiatives and a best-in-class associate experience.
Assess and monitor associate engagement on a proactive, ongoing basis. Support creation of action plans to systematically address opportunities and sources of associate disengagement.
Support change management best practices to ensure strategic changes are communicated thoughtfully to associates.
Implements effective onboarding strategies and plans for successful assimilation of new hires.
Addresses associates concerns with open communication techniques. Communicates with associates in a timely and courteous manner.
Manages employee relations matters, including reviewing recommendations with HR Manager and escalating, as appropriate.
Participate and collaborate in supervisor, management, and staff meetings.
Collaborate with HR colleagues to share best practices and leverage successes across the company.
Performs other relevant job duties as required.
What We Look For
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
PHR / SHRM-CP Preferred
3-5 years of HR experience, or related field
Prior work experience as an HR/People business partner - a plus
Visa sponsorship experience a plus
Working knowledge of Federal, state/province and local employment laws. Multi-state exposure a plus
Understanding of HR principles & best practices for talent management and performance management
Understanding of compensation and benefits policies and programs, employee relations practices
Track record of success working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization
Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize tasks
Demonstrated project management skills
Proven ability in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
Ability to build relationships in-person or virtually
How You Will Work
This is a hybrid role. Most of the work is done remotely through MS Teams, with the occasional in-office needs.
Some travel may be required
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
