The Criminal Justice Program at the University of Houston-Downtown seeks dynamic candidates to fill one (1) Lecturer position.
Job Description:
Teaches a 5/5 course load of undergraduate courses
Participates in student engagement, mentorship, and recruitment efforts
Provides service (if necessary) to the department, university, college, community, and profession

The individual(s) selected will have earned a minimum of a Master’s degree in Criminology; Criminal Justice; Criminology, Law, and Society; or a related field from a regionally accredited university by the time of the job offer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Specialization is open, however, preference will be given to individuals who can teach existing criminal justice course offerings of the department
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with justice-involved individuals
An established higher education teaching record
The willingness to teach multiple modalities
Demonstrable experience and/or commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and members of underrepresented groups
