Description Summary

Mechanic/Lube Technician will be responsible for preventative maintenance aspects of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Install assemble and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulation.

  • Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.

  • Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature, sounds, smells or a typical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.

  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.

  • Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric, and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.

  • Maintain machinery and adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.

  • Read and comply with work orders concerning device, modification or installation of machinery.

  • Must be willing and will be expected to move into full time mechanic responsibilities as needed.

Requirements


  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must pass drug screen, "Fit to Work" physical, and criminal background.

  • Must partner with other quarry employees as instructed by facility manager to ensure daily schedules are met.

  • Attendance required according to attendance policy to ensure crew ability to operate at a normal efficiency level.

  • Physical ability to operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours of time.

  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completions.

  • Attitude/cooperation: always maintain courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work various times during day, night, or weekend hours at various locations.

  • Ability to follow MSHA/OSHA safety guidelines as well as those set forth by the company policy.

  • Ability to follow instructions of supervisor/facility manager in order to adhere to company policies, safety guidelines.

  • Must supply own tools needed for job.

Education/Experience

  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience.
