Description of Position


Duties may be assigned to any of the below:





Ticket Office Attendant
:
Sells and distributes tickets to YC Performing Arts Center events/shows. Uses Audience View software to complete ticketing sales and purchases made online and in person with a variety of payment methods (cash, check, credit card, vouchers, etc.). Also the front line for customer service in communicating with patrons (face to face, telephone, online, etc.).




Event Staff
:
Duties include providing assistance to patrons of facilities by relaying times of events/performances, locating proper entrances, collecting tickets for admission, locating seats and exits, and other duties related to hospitality and safety issues. Also, monitoring the audience during performances and providing other assistance as needed (i.e. calling campus security, evacuation in the event of an emergency, ensuring every guest is able to enjoy the show, etc.). Able to administer First Aid or CPR if required (training provided).



Student Workers (ST) and Federal Work Study students (WS) will be hired at the student rate of pay.Minimum Expectations & Requirements

- Basic knowledge of or experience in theater/performing arts
- Excellent customer service skills: courteous, cooperative, and able to effectively communicate with members of the general public)
- Ability to monitor the audience and determine appropriate level of assistance (Event Staff)
- Basic cashiering and/or money handling, including processing cash, check, and credit card payment methods (Ticket Office Attendant)- Solid computer skills and comfortable using internet-based programs in a requirementPreferred Skills & Abilities

- Professional experience working in theater/ticketing/performing arts
- CPR and First Aid training/certification
- Work experience in a community college/higher education environment
