The Study Abroad Coordinator will work to provide outstanding service to prospective and current study abroad students. The Coordinator will provide information and program requirements to students interested in the study abroad experience. Manage and facilitate schedules for student office aides. assist with marketing, and maintain in-depth knowledge of study abroad programs and universities.
Major Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of study abroad programs on the traveler platform, Via
Provide individual and group advising to students related to studying abroad and exchange processes, non-academic issues including application, housing, overseas campus facilities, travel arrangements, cross-cultural expectations, enculturation, and re-entry
Assist with marketing and outreach including, but not limited to, social media content, Study Abroad tabling, FOCUS, other marketing events and classroom visits, and hosting on-campus visits as needed
Work with study abroad team to evaluate, improve and develop processes and procedures
Assist with the review process for study abroad program and scholarship applications
Coordinate and plan services for Valpo international travelers
Hire, train, and facilitate student scheduling as well as time cards
Supervise maintenance of study abroad office e-mail account
Supervise study abroad front desk operations, and reception and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment for supporting students through cross-cultural adjustment
Recruit and advise students applying for external scholarships including, but not limited to, the Benjamin A. Gilman, Freeman Asia, and Critical Language Scholarship.
Develop and coordinate marketing materials including electronic/web materials to recruit students
Maintain in-depth knowledge of a broad range of study abroad programs and universities
Collect, assess, and analyze data to enhance and improve education abroad programs and coordination of student services

Knowledge and skills:
Bachelor's degree
Experience working, living or studying abroad
Prior experience working with students is preferred
One year prior administrative experience in an office setting is required
Demonstrated experience maintaining data records
The Study Abroad Coordinator must multi-task with a high degree of accuracy and prioritize workflow in a deadline driven environment
Strong written and verbal communication
Manage/organize a large amount of data and reports
