Role:


As a Sr Technical Program Manager, you’ll join our Network Edge team responsible for the design, delivery, and operations of a broad portfolio of edge facilities within 3rd party colocation facilities, owned datacenters, and micro datacenters.  This role will be a leader responsible for delivering new edge capacity across all facility types driven by customer orders, demand forecasts, and strategic initiatives.  Responsibilities on the Edge Deployment team will require deep cross-functional collaboration with internal engineering SME’s (Network, Facilities, etc), internal project delivery teams (towers, OSP, etc), and 3rd party vendors (shelter manufacturers, engineering vendors, and partners).


 


Responsibilities



  • Lead strategy for large-scale programs to drive the company’s Edge evolution and strategy.

  • Project management and oversight of construction related activities for new builds or general capital projects. This will include the ownership of project design, project scope, timeline, and budget.

  • Lead a team of technical program managers, ensuring standardization and cross collaboration across programs.

  • Manage, evaluate, and ensure implementation of 3rd party software platforms to manage facility health, capacity, and distributed operations dispatch.

  • Understand the metro fiber market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.

  • Interface with key internal stakeholders (e.g. Networking, Data Center Engineering, PMs, security, etc.) to obtain their requirements and drive vendors to adhere to these key elements.

  • Understand the technical requirements of our engineering teams and ensure the completed project meets these requirements.

  • Manage and maintain integrated program plans and statuses, identify and mitigate risks, solve for dependencies, remove impediments, ensure timely and quality program delivery and manage organizational dependencies.

  • Define project scope and equipment requirements, assist with request for proposals, and capital requests.

Education/Certifications  



  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline

  • Master’s degree preferred


 


Experience/Minimum Requirements  



  • 10+ years working with network and datacenter operators and/or transformational programs

  • Deep understanding of data center technologies and best practices

  • Experience and knowledge of fiber optic networks and outside plant construction terminology

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing change management methodologies/frameworks to lead projects and create communication plans

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week).  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require up to 25% travel.
