ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Communities.
Knowledge of American table service and clearing techniques during and after dining service
Prepares dining room for dining by table linen and tablescape, condiments, service plates, and utensils.
Responsible for resetting table during and after dining service
Helps guests by providing menu and ingredient information, select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
Serves ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
Greets guests during initial welcome and provides hospitality and customer service through the meal
Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
Completes side work: napkin folding, stocking and cleaning server station, refilling condiments, etc.
Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting guests to return
Understands menu items, ingredients and ability to explain preparation methods and able to make suggestions based on guest preferences
Suggestive sells menu when appropriate
Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
Responds to additional guest needs and observing dining process
Able to open and pour wine from the bottle tableside
Picks up and serves food and drinks orders in a timely manner
Delivers checks and collect payments per restaurant standards
Attends Pre Service huddle prior to service
Maintains personal uniform cleanliness and pressed to restaurant standards
Adheres to Westminster Alcohol Beverage policies.
Promptly address guest issues and refers with management as necessary
Provides welcoming phone greeting and following Guest ordering procedures
Presents bill and accepts payments per Westminster standard
Reports to the Food & Beverage Mgr. or Chef any equipment and supplies that are needed or equipment that needs repair
Ensures the proper use of equipment and supplies and upholds cleaning and safety standards in dining and serve areas
Keeps station clean and tidy at all times
Cooperates and communicates with all servers, kitchen staff and management
Adheres to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
