Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Engineering Technician (2nd shift) located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technician performs technical tests and experiments for process engineering.

What a typical day looks like:


  • Develops programs for machines on SMT lines, following Engineering guidelines.

  • Adjusts programs according to customers’ specifications and requirements.

  • Analyzes engineering test results, and implements changes to resolve problems.

  • Assists engineers in developing fixtures required for customer products according to their specifications.

  • Collects data, analyzes results and implements procedures.

  • Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.

  • Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications.

  • Maintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications. 

  • Trains technicians and operators on products, processes and equipment.

  • Partner with engineers on outside third party developments.

  • Contributes to and improves techniques/ concepts.

  • Assists in developing goals/targets of line or department.

  • Requires little to no instruction or supervision.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:


  • Typically requires an Associates degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience. 

  • Typically requires 1-2 years of related experience.


  • Experience with SMT process, programming, troubleshooting and technical support for machines preferred: Screen Printer (preferable: MPM), solder paste inspection (preferable: Koh Young), Automatic Optical Inspection (preferable: Koh Young), Reflow oven, router, Selective solder, (preferable Ersa) Dispensing machines (preferable Asymtek)

  • Experience with creation of process flows and documentation.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electronic drawings.

  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
