Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role is an accomplished, broad-based business leader who brings deep experience in wealth management and more specifically in the HNW/UHNW segment serving clients who are entrepreneurs, business owners, and innovators. He/she is highly knowledgeable about SVB Private Banks' unique market and competitive environment.

This executive will have a minimum of 10 - 15 years of relevant experience, ideally including senior level leadership and management roles delivering full solutions to highly sophisticated clients across credit/banking, planning, and investments.


  • The Market Leader is a Senior Executive for the business and manages the alignment and execution of strategy and operations, providing regional leadership for SVB Private Bank in assigned markets.


  • The Wealth Market Leader is an active partner and member of the SVB Private Bank Regional Senior Leadership Team.


  • He/she facilitates the growth of the business through recruiting talent, leading business development and client support.


  • Lead the strategy and the day-to-day operations of Wealth Advisory market assigned, ensuring a smoothly functioning, efficient organization.


  • Recruit talent to help further the organization's mission and assist in growth in the region by targeting acquisitions and lift outs for Wealth Advisory.


  • Proactively analyze and manage problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.


  • Promote external and / or client facing programs and services that are produced in a cost-effective manner, employing economy while maintaining an acceptable level of quality.


  • Initiate, develop and maintain cooperative relationships with strategic external constituencies (Fidelity, Schwab, etc.).


  • Ensure that the programs and services offered by Wealth Advisory contribute to the organizations mission and reflect the priorities of management.


  • Approval of new client accounts and business development activities.


  • Play an active role in strategic business development and client management for key clients and prospects.


  • Assist in the development of marketing material and client facing reports and processes.


  • May represent SVB Private Bank management at both internal and external events.


Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills; able to ensure high levels of productivity with a focus on developing and retaining best talent. Able to coach and inspire and deal with conflict resolution when necessary.


  • An effective bridge-builder across Silicon Valley Bank's business groups; must be effective at bringing together different parts of the company to realize results; excellent consultative, collaborative, influencing, and communication skills.


  • He/she must understand how to cultivate key internal and external client relationships and have the intelligence and tenacity to work closely with his/her team to achieve this objective.


  • Highly credible with clients; brings deep knowledge of best practices to serve entrepreneurs, innovators, and business owners.
