Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Security Solutions Architect. This role can sit remotely with preference for someone to come in with a hybrid 2 day in office approach in our Farmington Hills Headquarters. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set. 

Summary Statement

Protects digital information through safeguarding the Amerisure network, files, user accounts and other sensitive information.  Provides cyber security and cyber threat management subject matter expertise by monitoring and understanding the ever-changing threat landscape. Collaborates with business units and the IT department to ensure that cloud security is embedded into every technology solution we build, maintain and support.

Essential Tasks/Major Duties

• Partner with business to act as subject matter expert for Application and Cloud security technologies and practices to ensure compliance with cyber security & governance programs


• Collaborate with the Architects in the development and design of cloud security practices and implementation of cloud security architecture principles across the organization to meet business goals, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.


• Provide thought leadership for the selection, design, and implementation of IT Security controls that support the IT Cloud Architectural Strategy.


• Incorporate security tools/tasks into automated product development and deployment lifecycle (SAST/DAST/IAST integration into CI/CD pipeline)


• Provide in-depth technical support for existing information security platforms and cloud infrastructure solutions


• Identify the appropriate places throughout the development lifecycle, where security team members should be involved for deep dives, additional security reviews, or technical contributions


• Perform IT security risk assessments, penetration tests, source code review, product and application security evaluations and provide documented results/recommendations to project leadership teams


• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with business customers and stakeholders, thoroughly understanding their business needs, expectations, and objectives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience


• Seven years IT experience with a minimum of four years application and cloud security experience


• Deep and broad experience in cloud security


• Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27000, COBIT, CIS, HITRUST, etc.)


• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools


• Prior exposure to modern CI/CD pipelines, including tools and technologies such as Azure DevOps (former VSTS), GitHub, Jenkins, and others


• Ability to manage multiple project work teams using DevSecOps agile methodology


• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security-Security, Azure Security Engineer Associate certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials Certified (GSEC), or Certified in Risk and Information System Control (CRISC)


• Technically proficient with cloud security tool sets used with AWS/Azure,  and SaaS Application Security and M365


• Cyber incident response, containment, and mitigation experience


• Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
