Job Summary:
Set up and operate welding machines for the repair, fabrication, or custom design of equipment. Fabrication involves laying out, cutting, fitting, measuring and welding metals to create the desired shape or object.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
Perform set-up procedures on welding machine in accordance with project specifications established through work orders, blueprints, drawings, and/or templates.
Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
Inspect and check parts prior to and after production to verify Company quality standards are met.
Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
Perform regular and routine housekeeping responsibilities to maintain orderly and safe work environment and machine operation.
Troubleshoot all machinery malfunctions by locating source of problems(s) through observation of mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Attend required company safety meetings and training on a regular and consistent basis.
Understand and adhere to the Parratt-Wolff Employee Handbook and Health and Safety Plan.
Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

Requirements:
Qualification and Skills:
High School Degree/GED preferred
Must be a skilled welder / fabricator and have working knowledge of fabrication equipment, hand tools, measurement devices and be able to adjust functional parts of machinery, devices, and control instruments.
Must be able to work independently, without supervision, while performing certain tasks in a safe and timely manner.
Ability to effectively operate and/or read measuring devices and gauges including, but not necessarily limited to, tape measure, protractor, calipers, micrometers, and inspection gauges.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance involved in the fabrication of custom products.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
Ability to understand directions and follow standard operating procedures.
Must have valid Drivers' license and clean driving record.
Must have reliable transportation.
Candidate must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
OSHA Hazwoper Training is a plus.
Pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen required
Annual physicals and drug tests provided as well as mandated random drug tests.
Special Requirements:
On occasion this position will require weekend work.
