Entry Level Bridge Engineer/Inspector at TranSystems Corporation

Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems’ Meriden, CT office is seeking entry level engineers to join our growing staff and support our work as follows:


  • Participate in structural engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a senior engineer.

  • Perform engineering calculations, structural analyses and prepare CADD drawings as required.

  • Take part as a member of a field crew on structure inspection assignments. Take photos & measurements; produce sketches.

  • Operate personnel lift equipment, climb ladders, install traffic control devices and other work in support of inspection activities.

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering reports documenting inspection findings.

  • Other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • College degree with a concentration in structural engineering from an accredited engineering curriculum.

  • PC literate: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, CADD (AUTOCAD or Bentley MicroStation)


  • Ability to clearly describe observations and convey information with sketches and technical writing.



What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:


  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering licensing exam (EIT) preferred.


  • Opportunities for travel.




  • Minimal client contact involved.
