Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

 

The Plant Operator will be responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of natural gas amine treating plants, compressors and pipeline systems via both computer control center and onsite operations.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Assumes the responsibility of operating natural gas plant and pipeline equipment including but not limited to amine treating plants, chilled water gas conditioning skids, reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, gas measurement equipment, etc.

  • Operating the plant equipment and system may include, but is not limited to:

  • Start-up/Shutdown of plant equipment.

  • Adjusting controls to operate equipment in the recommended or prescribed operating ranges.

  • Visually inspecting equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.

  • De-pressuring equipment and pipelines

  • Operating valves

  • Monitor Plant and Pipeline Operations and respond appropriately to emergency or upset conditions.

  • May be required to operate under Process Safety Management (PSM).

  • Implements safe work practices and participates in proactive safety culture while ensuring safety for the employee, the public, and the environment at all times.

  • Ensures regulatory compliance and record keeping requirements are met and continually monitored.

  • Reads, monitors, and records various operating conditions such as pressures, temperatures, hours of operation, fuel consumed, water levels, etc.

  • Performs minor maintenance on equipment and system including but not limited to:   reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, etc.            

  • Monitoring as well as removing and replacing filters, oil, chemicals, and other lubricating fluids as needed.

  • Remove and replace gaskets as needed.

  • Remove and replace valves if necessary.

  • Changing of Gauges

  • Maintaining sites in a clean condition including picking up trash, taking out trash, controlling of weeds and grassy areas, minor painting, etc.

  • Cleaning out of site glasses as necessary.

  • Continually improving upon meeting the needs and demands of our customers.

  • Maintains a near perfect driving record.

  • Directs and supervises contract labor involved in plant maintenance activities

  • Collaborates with direct supervisor on new and improved ideas associated with an evolving plant and pipeline system.

  • Performs other duties and special projects as may be assigned by supervisor.

  • Position requires the ability to work a rotating 12 hour shift schedule.

 


 

 

 

 

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: 


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field is preferred.

  • Previous experience in an amine treating plant is preferred.

  • Basic computer skills in MS Office Applications,  (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.

  • Knowledge of the operation, control and general design of various kinds of systems typically present in a processing or fractionation plant is required.

  • Possession of a strong commitment to personal and job safety is required.

  • Good decision making skills and a strong work ethic is required.

  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to maintain and promote good working relationships within a team environment is required.

  • Good organizational skills, good customer relations skills is required.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with land owners and other corporate and field personnel is required.

  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of days & nights is required.
