Job Description:

Summary

Responsible for configuring and managing the loan operations systems, devise and implement continual improvements to these systems. Oversees and administers all third-party relationships associated with mortgage and home equity products. Provides operational support where needed to ensure day-to-day production tasks and service level agreements (including turn times) are met. Partners with Compliance and Risk Management teams to ensure regulations and quality measures are adhered to.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  1. Administers and recommends improvements to all mortgage-related systems. Seeks enhancements to loan processes and services to members through technology and automation. Administers all lending systems, including, but not limited to mortgage LOS, mortgage POS, mortgage servicing, core banking and secondary market, as necessary.

  2. Collaborates with the Technology Team on projects and testing requirements for mortgage-related systems and updates.

  3. Helps manage third-party relationships with appraisal management companies, title companies, mortgage insurance vendors and other vendors.

  4. Updates and maintains loan programs, daily rates and fee structures for mortgage and home equity products within the mortgage system.

  5. Generates production reports as needed for management and compliance reporting. Validates data integrity and resolves data discrepancies with the appropriate parties (i.e. Technology, Finance, Vendor Systems Support and Investors).

  6. Contributes to efficient team operations by assisting with escalation resolution, loan corrections, system troubleshooting and other operational issues as business needs dictate. Serves as a back-up to critical funding and servicing duties when necessary.

  7. Ensures adherence to applicable regulations and system preparedness by partnering with the Compliance Team and facilitating training of the Mortgage Team.

  8. Define and introduce new automation features within the LOS to eliminate manual processes and address Operations Team pain points.

  9. Work successfully on multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously, under aggressive timelines.

  10. Seeks ways to streamline work processes and continuously improve the Credit Union.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years of related work experience as a Systems/Software Administrator. Experience as a mortgage loan processor, originator or underwriter, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Requirements Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities


  1. Must follow the Credit Unions written policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), to include completion of the registration process, use of the unique identifier and maintenance of this registration as required.

  2. Understanding of real estate terminology including first, second and adjustable rate mortgages, trust deeds, rescission periods and reconveyances.

  3. Professional and approachable demeanor. Proven ability to quickly develop rapport with members over the phone. Excellent listening skills.

  4. Professional written and verbal communication skill.

  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Working knowledge of loan processing systems. Ability to learn the Credit Unions core banking system. Familiarity with Mortgagebot and FICS desired.

  6. Proven ability to handle tasks accurately and completely, with attentiveness to detail in a multi-tasking environment. Critical thinker, with the ability to analyze and make data-driven decisions.

  7. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  8. Ability to work independently, organize time and prioritize duties to ensure an effective workflow.

  9. Independent self-starter who is willing to take control of the role and is able to deliver, without needing significant direction from others. With high tolerance for ambiguity and change. Acts and work with a sense of urgency.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
