Credit Union Difference Rivermark is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by the people who save and borrow here. Unlike a bank, Rivermark does not issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders. Instead, earnings are returned to members in the form of lower rates, higher dividends on deposits and lower fees. We exist solely for the benefit of our member/owners. While credit unions and banks offer similar products and services, the similarities end there. Our History Rivermark was founded in February 1951 by 140 grocery store employees who formed Safeway Portland Employees Federal Credit Union. In 2004, the credit union was approved for a community charter and changed its name to Rivermark Community Credit Union. Today, the Credit Union operates 7 branches in Oregon and serves over 90,000 members. Deposits are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
Summary
Provides support to Consumer Loan Underwriters and branch staff by performing a variety of tasks, including preparing required loan documents, scheduling loan closings and disbursing funds.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Receives decisioned loan requests, prepares necessary loan documents and arranges for funding.
Contacts borrowers and third parties to verify information for funding.
Cross-sells a variety of Credit Union products and services, including the Rivermark Insurance Agency, Guaranteed Asset Protection, Mechanical Breakdown Protection and Consumer Safe Debt Protection.
Schedules closing appointments with borrower. Communicates with Consumer Loan Underwriter or branch staff to ensure all stipulations and requirements are met prior to funding. Actively educates and encourages members to utilize electronic signing options throughout the process.
Reviews loan documents for accuracy and ensures they are in accordance with loan policies and regulations.
Disburses loan funds accurately, according to documentation and procedures.
Maintains security of all loan files and documentation.
Responds to email requests from branch and Contact Center staff in a timely manner.
Takes complete ownership of every interaction whether it requires a call back, extended research or assistance from other teams until complete.
Actively participates in coaching scenarios with management.
Follows the Credit Unions written policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all required regulations and to prevent loan fraud and losses.
Continuously improves individual level of competency through training and development via established educational programs.
Seeks ways to streamline work processes and continuously improve the Credit Union.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year financial institution work experience. Consumer lending experience preferred.

Thorough understanding of consumer loan documents, including DMV documents and processes.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Proficient data entry and ten-key calculator skills.
Ability to use judgment and discretion when handling confidential member account information.
