This is a Second Shift position, located at the Arthrex manufacturing facility in Ave Maria, FL.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus . If hired, you will be eligible for a $1000.00 sign-on bonus (minus appropriate tax withholding). $500 will be paid after you complete your first 90 days, and $500 at 180 days. Must be an employee in good standing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Receives work order and verify that the components are correct.

  • Troubleshoot equipment when not operating properly.

  • Verifies own work before proceeding with operations.

  • Sets all tools on pre-setter for completion of set-up. Log all necessary tool shifts.

  • Place all tools in machine and double check that they are secure.

  • Download programs / Dry run machine with no material with all tools in place. Make sure hand is on feed control knob at all times.

  • Run a part with material and make necessary adjustments

  • Run a part and inspect first part, second part needs to be check by inspector or Certified Operator.

  • Production and prototype jobs are set up consistently timely and accurately.

  • Performs machine cleaning regularly.

  • Maintains good quality and production output.

  • Verify inspection tools issued to job are there and correct.

  • Verify that inspection process are kept at AQLS C=0 @2.5.

  • Example Check parts every 30 min.

  • Data entry in SAP system.

  • Demonstrates responsibility for the safeguard of all company equipment and working tools.

  • Demonstrates ability to streamline processes in increase productivity and quality.




  • Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.

  • Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle.

  • Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.

  • Stops machine to change settings and offsets and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications using precision measuring instruments.

  • Discusses control media errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.

  • Inspects finished work piece to specification, using precision measuring instruments.

  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

  • May confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to solve machining or assembly problems.

  • Inspects machined work piece to specifications, using micrometers, calipers, fixed gauges and optical gauges.

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3 years directly related training and /or experience of machine operating required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Full working knowledge of machining properties of common metals and alloys. Good mechanical aptitude. Advance blueprint reading skills. Proficient with measuring equipment and instruments. General knowledge of tool life. Ability to streamline machining process. Demonstrates housekeeping etiquette.

Successful completion of assigned curriculum with 180 days of hire/transfer which includes completing the Fundamental of Manufacturing. Complete and pass Metrology Course CT-137 and CTA-082. For CMM training if required by the department will required completing CTC-047 and CTA-080.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of CNC machines.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.

Physical Demands:

Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Vision Requirements:

Visual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively.
