Job Description:

OVERVIEW
Cigna Medical Group (CMG), the group practice division of CIGNA HealthCare of Arizona, is one of the Valley's largest multi-specialty group practices with over 20 offices located throughout metropolitan Phoenix. Many are equipped with several medical specialists under one roof, so referrals or additional diagnostic needs can be quickly obtained. There are 7 board certified/qualified podiatric physicians and surgeons in the medical group. The physician will provide Podiatry care for CMG patients deemed to fall within the scope of practice of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Diagnoses and treats patients for disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower leg. These services include but are not limited to: Treatment of foot, ankle, and lower leg wounds; venous insufficiency; lower extremity infections; toenail abnormalities; heel pain; bunions and hammertoes; tendon and ligament disorders, bone and joint disorders, trauma of the foot and ankle including fracture care.

LOCATION/HOURS OF OPERATION

- Locations: Phoenix central, Sun City, Paseo, CJ Harris, Superstition Springs, Westridge
- Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

- Approximately 40 patient care hours/week, generally divided over a 5-day workweek.

CALL SCHEDULE

On-call duties occur generally as follows: There are 7 Podiatrists in the medical group. Each Podiatrist will be the 1st or primary call for 1 week every 7 weeks and the 2nd or backup call 1 week every 7 weeks. The call week starts on Friday. The holiday call schedule is divided equitably.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is responsible for providing excellent care to Cigna Medical Group patients in an outpatient clinical setting, outpatient surgical center, and provides inpatient hospital care as needed.
- The incumbent must be effective in unifying the business, operational, support and clinical arms into a cohesive team.

-The physician is responsible for accurate record keeping, coding, and billing.

-Participates in the management and training of office staff.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- DPM degree required.
- Board certified or qualified in Foot Surgery. If board qualified then need be actively working towards board certification and achieve board certification within 3 years of employment.
- Active and unrestricted AZ medical license required.
- Good computer skills using MS Office Products (Word/Excel) and Electronic Health Records systems (Epic).
- Demonstrates flexibility and displays excellent communication skills with staff and during patient interactions.
