The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for achieving and maintaining goals for a specified area of responsibility. This person is responsible to develop and implement improvements that include equipment reliability, operator skills, technician skills, training, maintenance and tooling optimizations.
This person works to improve production and quality targets and to provide the appropriate engineering support for the respective line.
Your profile
Initiates, develops, monitors and maintains short-term, mid-term and long-term maintenance plans, based on a thorough understanding of equipment requirements and resource availability
Responsible for all major technical issues on respective production areas, such as but not limited to resources coordination and management during breakdowns
Perform routine inspection of maintenance craftsmanship on respective production areas
Develops and trains for routine PM's and oversees operator and technician training on technical overviews and procedures
Design and implementation of engineering modifications to improve equipment and process robustness
Performs return on investment calculations for small projects to prove out its value
Makes recommendations to Process Engineering Group for potential major engineering modifications
Works on improved tooling designs, alternative materials and methodologies, etc.
Defines spare parts, supplier, quantity, and timing requirements
Works with the assigned Team to define and implement action plan items and Poke Yoke systems
Develops project and resource planning for upcoming projects and retooling of current and new equipment.
Involvement in purchasing of new equipment with Process Engineering such as pre-acceptance and final acceptance programs
Working with Process Engineering and Control Engineering on standardization of technical requirements for machine tool builders
Maintain, support, and verify established 5S standards for respective work area
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical/ industrial engineering or similar field required with 2 years of engineering experience preferred in manufacturing or related field.
Other Qualifications and Abilities:
Proficient in AutoCAD or other CAD systems
