Job Description:

This is a multi-level role that provides the vision, strategy, functionality, and technology solutions for creating/maintaining Network infrastructure-based solutions. This entails the design and use of flexible platforms that deliver features, functionality, and services compatible with industry-leading providers while allowing legacy systems to interact safely when required. The successful candidate will possess the necessary Network skills to provide technology research, evaluation, development, and delivery in support of infrastructure deployment solution lifecycles.

The candidate will work directly with the IT teams to lead the organization toward the deployment of technologies that may include PaaS, SaaS, hosted license, and on-premise subscriptions - which will allow for flexible, secure, on-demand cloud-like functionality and services while endeavoring to control costs and achieve potential cost reduction, while maintaining a highly secure and flexible environment.

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Level I:


  • Researches and develops emerging Network technologies.
  • Supports high-level strategy specific to Network technologies.
  • Ensures Network technology alignment with the business.
  • Works with technology vendors and technical SMEs to produce Network corporate standards with regards to Network Platforms and Technology Solutions.
  • Emphasizes technology cost optimization.
  • Acts a primary Network engineer.
  • Develops solutions for Network using robust tool sets and automation.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains supporting documentation for Network Technology standards.
  • Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs
  • Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures
  • Regular reliable attendance is expected and required
  • Performs other functions as assigned by management

Level II (In addition to Level I):

  • Provide strategic direction for Network environments and associated tools.
  • Explores alternative models from traditional on-premise solutions to subscription-based alternatives; adopts and supports the appropriate on-premise subscription, cloud-based or hybrid technology in support of the Organizational needs.
  • Works directly with business stakeholders to determine the ideal Network configuration to support platforms and solutions to best satisfy their needs.
  • Significant contribution and responsibility in the Network technology expenditures and ROI that will expressly enable and support business agility and flexibility.
  • Establishes and represents Business Cases for Network Technology-based purchase decisions.

    Minimum Qualifications


    NOTE: This description includes multiple levels of classification. The levels of classifications are differentiated by demonstrated knowledge, skills, and the ability to manage increasingly independent and/or complex assignments, broader responsibility, additional decision making and, in some cases, becoming a resource to others. New hires will be placed in the level for which they are most qualified based on their experience, credentials and skills.


    Level I:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Analytics or relevant field (or four years of related work experience in lieu of bachelors).
  • Seven years of related work experience in Network technologies.
  • Ten years of strong Network technology, research, design and implementation experience.
  • Solid understanding of Network technologies.
  • Solid security, compliance, and audit awareness maturity level.
  • Infrastructure operations and infrastructure project delivery experience essential.
  • Basic understanding of networking and network-related protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS...).
  • Familiarity with virtualization and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Citrix, Windows Server, Linux, AIX.
  • Familiarity with PowerVC, KVM, HyperV, Vsphere.
  • Experience with load balancers and highly available environments.
  • Scripting and automation experience.
  • Understanding of cloud computing infrastructure and concepts.
  • Strong team player with a high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability.

    Level II (in addition to Level I):


  • Ten years of related work experience in Network technologies.
  • Five years of strong Network technology, research, design and implementation experience.
  • Advanced understanding of Network technologies.
  • Excellent security, compliance, and audit awareness maturity level.
  • Advanced Infrastructure operations and infrastructure project delivery experience essential.
  • Understanding of networking and network-related protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS...).
  • Intermediate understanding of virtualization and cloud platforms.
  • Intermediate understanding of VMware, Citrix, Windows Server, Linux, AIX.
  • Understanding of PowerVC, KVM, HyperV, VSphere.
  • Experience with load balancers and highly available environments.
  • Strong scripting and automation experience.
  • Experience with resource management and optimization.
  • Security compliance experience with regards to SOX, HIPAA, HITECH, SAS70, PCI.
  • General understanding of both block- and object-based storage subsystems.
  • Advanced understanding of DR, HA, and business continuity.
  • Demonstrated competence in team leadership/technical leadership, facilitation, and project leadership.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work effectively with minimal supervision and serve as a mentor to other team members if necessary.
  • Ability to review and understand complex contract language.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing infrastructure and concepts.
  • Vendor relationship experience.
  • Strong team player with a high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent budget management skills.
  • Strategic vision in alignment with business objectives.
  • High degree of business maturity and demonstrated confidentiality; executes good judgment.
