Job Description:

Arcosa Lightweight is searching for a Mining and Production Manager for our Frazier Park plant. In this role you will support a positive safety culture by directing the activities and staff within a mining environment that is regulated by MSHA’s safety standards. As a Mining and Production Manager you will manage and develop a mining plan as well as manage the production of Clay through the lightweight process.


Arcosa Lightweight is a leading producer and distributor in the U.S. of expanded shale and clay aggregates.


What You'll Do:
• Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations
• Manage personnel within company guidelines
• Manage the mining and production teams
• Manage HDR mechanics and Mobile Equipment.
• Manage production, kiln shutdowns, and fuel cost
• Operate plant in compliance with all environmental, air and water permits
• Be responsible for compliance of all MSHA standards
• Plan and direct the operation of the plant to assure cost effective production of quality in budgeted volume to support sales objectives, protection and maintenance of facilities and equipment
• Assist plant manager in monitoring operating budget and production efficiency, initiating corrective action as required
• Monitor production and initiate corrective action as required to ensure that product conforms to quality control parameters regarding weight and gradation
• Develop a mining plan and ensure adherence to the plan
• Assist in hiring, training, and motivating plant personnel to ensure the competency and productivity of the work force
• Edit and manage employee’s timesheets
• Assist in development of short and long-term plans for capital expenditures
• Ensure all shifts are adequately covered by regulating schedules, time off and back up personnel
• Ensure the safety of all employees at the facility
• Cover hourly positions if needed for callouts
• Manage production emergencies on nights and weekends
• Lift weights up to 60 pounds
• Stand, bend, and kneel at periods of time
• Walk up and down elevated catwalks and stairs
• Other duties as assigned


What You'll Need:
• High school diploma
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience
• Organization and prioritization skills
• Aggregates experience is a plus
• Knowledge of MSHA standards
• Strong computer skills – MS Office, E-Maintenance, and NetSuite experience is preferred
• Familiarity with KRONOS, or similar, time keeping program is a plus
