Growth Technician - Mfg Operator at II-VI Incorporated

Job Description:

Job Summary

Support manufacturing objectives and goals through various manufacturing techniques of the assembly of semiconductor wafers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Perform Inspection of own work
  • Responsible for operating production equipment, and proper handling of semiconductor wafers.

    • Use Wafer 2 run to locate and issue substrates to clean room
    • Properly load and unload wafers per procedures
    • Start recipes on Aixtron 2600G3 and 2800G4.
    • Read set points and actual values of heat jackets using the Heat Jacket controller
    • Perform shift checks of MOCVD tools
    • Perform work in etch bench, clean quartzware and track each step of the etching process
    • Understand and properly execute Glovebox operations
    • Understand and properly execute vacuuming reactor chamber, loading wafers, unloading wafers and temperature limitation of fluorware containers
    • Check for proper satellite rotation
    • Understand and properly execute DOR processes per procedure
    • Understand and properly execute scrubber processes
    • Monitor temperature/humidity requirements for characterization tools per QF7.5.031
    • Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks
  • Wo rk with manufacturing and engineering teams across the cleanroom and fab departments to ensure all issues are solved appropriately and efficiently
  • A high standard for quality and a safe work environment is maintained.
  • Achievement of goals and objectives
  • Follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma
  • 2 years' experience in a manufacturing (semiconductor) environment.

  • Basic reading and math skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and process procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Adapt readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations
  • Maintains a positive attitude and is cooperative in working with others
